OBAMA SAID:  "GOP Responsible for Obama Jobs Bill Not Passing"

FACTS:  Dems Rejected Obama's Jobs Bill, but AP Blames the GOP Nonetheless
 October 11, 2011  It is the Democrats who can't pass this bill. It's the Democrats who don't have the votes. It was Mitch McConnell's idea to push for a quick vote on this. He wanted to illustrate the fact that Obama does not have Democrat votes. And right on cue, here comes the AP blaming Republicans for blocking the president's tax bill.

OBAMA SAID:  "Jobs Bill Paid for" 

THE FACTS: Obama did not spell out exactly how he would pay for the measures contained in his nearly $450 billion American Jobs Act, but said he would send his proposed specifics in a week to the new congressional supercommittee charged with finding budget savings. White House aides suggested that new deficit spending in the near-term to try to promote job creation would be paid for in the future – the “out years,” in legislative jargon – but they did not specify what would be cut or what revenues they would use.

Essentially, the jobs plan is an IOU from a president and lawmakers who may not even be in office down the road when the bills come due. Today’s Congress cannot bind a later one for future spending. A future Congress could simply reverse it.

Currently, roughly all federal taxes and other revenues are consumed in spending on various federal benefit programs, including Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ benefits, food stamps, farm subsidies and other social-assistance programs and payments on the national debt. Pretty much everything else is done on credit with borrowed money.

So there is no guarantee that programs that clearly will increase annual deficits in the near term will be paid for in the long term.

OBAMA SAID:  "We began by passing a Recovery Act that has already saved or created over 150,000 jobs.” – caught cooking the books and now changed to ‘jobs supported’ versus ‘created/saved’

FACTS:   This assertion is flawed on several levels. For starters, the U.S. has lost more than 1.2 million jobs since Obama took office, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Even if Obama's  stimulus bill saved or created as many jobs as he says, that number is dwarfed by the number of recent job losses.

OBAMA SAID:  "Recovery Act will save or create jobs"
ABC News reported on Nov. 16, 2009:

            Millions of the Recovery Acts dollars have been spent for jobs in districts that DON”T EXIST!

            140.5 million in 1^st Congresssional district of the U.Virgin Islands (doen’t exist)

            48.7 million  was spent by the 99^th congressional district in the U.S. Virgin Islands (doesn’t exist)

            47.7 million was spent by the 99^th congressional district of Puerto Ricio (doesn’t exist)

35 million was spent byt the 99^th congressional district of the Northern mariana Island (doesn’t  exist)

We’re not just talking off shore:

19 million was spent for 15 jobs in congressional districts in Oklahoma that don’t exist

10.6 million was spent on 39 jobs created in non existent districts in Iowa

Get the picture????What I want to know is…where is that money really going???

OBAMA SAID:  "The American automobile industry has come roaring back…So now I want to say what we did with the auto industry, we can do it in manufacturing across America. Let’s make sure advanced, high-tech manufacturing jobs take root here, not in China. And that means supporting investment here. Governor Romney … invested in companies that were called ‘pioneers’ of outsourcing. I don’t want to outsource. I want to insource."

FACTS:  We need to look no further than General Motors’ own figures to  learn that GM outsources almost two thirds of its jobs overseas. Less than one in five GM vehicles are manufactured in the United States.
To be exact: GM’s December 31, 2011 annual report shows General Motors of North America accounting for 98,000  of the 207,000 GM jobs worldwide. But 12,000 of these jobs are in Canada and 11,500 are in Mexico.  Accordingly, GM has 74,500 jobs in the United States and 122,500 abroad, even after Obama’s touted surge in Detroit jobs.  Almost two thirds of  GM’s jobs are in other countries.
GM’s outsourcing is not a slip. GM clearly states that foreign investment and  outsourcing of jobs are an integral parts of its growth strategy

“75 years ago, General Motors came to our country with a dream to fulfill: turning Mexico into a prosperous nation for the benefit of millions of families. Today, after 75 years into the adventure, we have achieved goals that seemed unattainable, thanks to the efforts and dedication of Mexican talent. During the 75 years GM Mexico has been in operation, the subsidiary has produced 7 million vehicles, 20 million engines, and 4 million transmissions. GM Mexico employs 11,500 direct and about 90,000 indirect employees.”
So it now appears that GM’s goal is to make Mexico prosperous, not the good old US of A!

OBAMA SAID:  “You Didn’t Build that”
Obama: "I am always so struck by people who think, wow, it must be because well I’m just so smart …. it must be because I worked harder than anyone else … let me tell you something, if you have a business, you didn’t build that … somebody else made that happen!"

One response: Shame on you Mr. President! My brother worked 10 years as a heating and air conditioning man before making the big step of opening his first business! The road has been, to say the least, rough! In the early years, my brother and sister even sacraficed their own paychecks (barely making ends meet) to make sure the employees of the company took home a paycheck so they could feed their families! My brother has never taken a vacation (1 day when my mom passed back in 2004). He is constantly worrying about health insurance for his employees and so much other red tape involved for small business owners. So much for small business owners …. we know what it’s all about and it has nothing to do with what Obama has “done for us” … rather what we can do for him!

OBAMA SAID:  Obama, in the same speech above was referring to the fact that small businesses needed other things to flourish, like roads, electricity, teachers who educated the business owners… the whole infrastructure. The small businessman didn’t create that, the government made that possible

No it didn’t!  the TAXES that we the people paid, paid for all that.  So if that small business man has been paying his taxes all along, HE helped create the infrastructure needed to run his business.

It’s about equal opportunity and what you do with that opportunity. Infrastructure and teachers are there for all Americans, so ANYONE could start and build a business, but not everyone does. Give credit when and where credit is due… to those willing to take a chance on their dream.
